WILLIAMSTOWN – Having drinks and supper with friends is not the only thing Jacks Pub offers, they are a family-owned restaurant located in Williamstown.

Shawn Fowler, MP Bernier, as well as Kevin & Amber O’Farrell are the current owners of Jacks Pub, the place is known for its mix of classic pub fare, charming ambiance, and small-town hospitality.

The main chef who is known for his amazing burgers is Shawn Fowler. Shawn says “I love putting a smile on someone’s face with a meal.” Shawn was motivated by the independence and felt it was his calling, he had the passion and skill to create the dishes he does, so he made it happen.

While growing up, Shawn made meals with and for his family, learning through trial and error, constantly trying new dishes to make. He said that his favorite meal to make and one of the most loved meals in the pub is a hamburger. “I love making a good juicy burger.”

Shawn had worked at a bakery, tying his love for cooking even more, his mother had bought the bakery after Shawn had asked her to. He proceeded to work part time at the bakery for 25 years. He then began working at Jacks pub in June 2021, then took ownership March 25, 2024, he has no intent on changing the name due to Jacks Pub having its name for 20 years. Jacks Pub had burnt down in 1946 after being a farming equipment mechanic shop for years, it was later built again in 1947 and the original owners gained the liquor license in 1989. The Pub was originally called Jack Delanies.

It has now become the famous small-town pub it is today, and the people love it for its foundations, nostalgia, and most importantly the staff, food, and drinks. Some struggles the owners of Jacks pub face vary; from budgeting time for family, bills, and maintaining the building due some small left out necessities while it was rebuilt (insulation, drafts, etc). While visiting this famous spot in Williamstown, you can expect the traditional classic comfort pub food with a twist, such as chicken wings, burgers, deep fried snacks, and even weekly specials. You can experience smiles and kind words from staff and the locals while you sit at a table and eat some of the best pub food. Jacks Pub is definitely a place to try.
