CORNWALL – There are many routes towards achieving the goal of a healthy lifestyle, which can be defined as making healthy choices every day. For many this includes the addition of nutritional supplements to ensure their diet contains necessary nutrients.

Recently Jeff Lavallee opened Popeye’s Supplements Cornwall, located at 1225 Brookdale Avenue, and is a part of the Popeye’s Supplements Canada franchise. He noted that his store is one of very few supplement stores in Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry.

He explained Popeye’s Supplements Canada are 100% Canadian owned with over 140 stores across the country, noting the closest stores to the area were located in Ottawa, Kingston and locations in Quebec. With the opening of Popeye’s Supplements Cornwall, people will be able to make their purchases of nutritional supplements locally without travelling to other communities.

The grand opening of the franchise was held between March 11 and 15, with a fantastic turnout of people according to Lavalee. There were several opening specials available to customers including the opportunity for the first 30 customers each day who made pre-tax purchases of $150 receiving a gift bag valued at $200.

The Cornwall store carries whey powder and protein bars as well as vitamin and mineral supplements which are designed to promote a healthy lifestyle diet and overall well-being. Customers are also able to purchase a variety of accessories which include a variety of water bottle brands, shaker cups, some clothing and shaker cups.

Of special note is the in-store shaker bar which gives customers the opportunity to enjoy a yogurt-based shake. It was explained the addition of whey powder provides the shake with flavour and there are several additions available such as collagen, creatine or veggie greens to enhance the nutritional value of the shake.

The store is open seven days per week between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. between Monday and Saturday and on Sunday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Staff are available to provide information and assistance to customers as needed.

Lavallee mentioned people are able to make purchases in person or online with delivery available. The Facebook and Instagram pages provide more information on the Cornwall location.
