EMBRUN – The Township of Russell is looking for public input as they begin the work of revising the community’s Parks, Recreation and Culture Master Plan.
This revised and updated plan will guide future decisions about parks, recreation, and cultural facilities and programs in the Township of Russell.
As the community grows and changes, so does its needs. The Master Plan will help to:
- Identify current and future community needs.
- Improve quality of life and well-being for residents.
- Establish clear priorities for future development.
- Ensure the Township is making informed decisions for years to come.
Expedition Management Consulting has been hired to work closely with the Township to develop the plan and lead a variety of engagement opportunities.
Make no mistake, the Township wants to hear from you.
Public input is essential. Residents, businesses, and community groups are invited to share their ideas and priorities for parks, recreation, and culture in Russell Township. There are several ways to get involved:
Online Surveys
- Resident Survey: Open from Sept. 8 to Oct. 6, 2025
- Community Group Survey: Open from Sept. 8 to Oct. 6, 2025
Virtual Community Input Workshops
Learn more about the project and share your thoughts during one of the scheduled workshops:
- English Session – Sept. 30, 2025, 6:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.
- French Session – Oct. 2, 2025, 6:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.
In-Person Engagement Booths
You can also meet the consulting team and share your input in person. There will be several sessions:
- Seniors Session – Russell Township Town Hall, Sept. 23, 2025, 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Youth Session – Embrun Arena, Sept. 23, 2025, 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Community Pop-up Booth #1 – Embrun Arena, Sept. 23, 2025, 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Community Pop-up Booth #2 – Russell Arena, Sept. 24, 2025, 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The public engagement period will run from Sept. 8 to Oct. 6, 2025. The final plan is expected to be completed by the spring of 2026.
