RUSSELL – “It’s amazing to see 550 awesome women together” commented Judy McFaul, chair of the organizing committee for the 2024 Russell Ladies Night Out held on May 3rd at the Doctor F. Kinard Community Centre.

Hosted by the Russell Agricultural Society (RAS), the theme for the evening was Mardi Gras – Dancing in the Streets and was a fundraiser for the RAS and Naomi’s Family Resource Centre in Winchester.

After being greeted at the door, guests walked down a red carpet and were escorted to their seats by members of the Russell Fire Services.  Many were in Mardi Gras inspired costumes and all were ready to have an enjoying evening with friends, new and old.

The event featured a raffle, sit down dinner buffet catered by Leatherworks, music to dance to by the Five Dollar Down band and an opportunity to socialize with friends and neighbours.  During the evening Ottawa artist Allan Andre painted a New Orleans Mardi Gras painting which was to be auctioned during the evening.

McFaul expressed her thanks to “our amazing community” for their support over the last 18 years, commenting “See you next year on May 2, 2025.”
