CHESTERVILLE—The North Dundas Atom C1 Demons played two playoff games this past week as they travelled to Smiths Falls on Monday night to take on the Bears and welcomed the Bears on Tuesday night.

Demons 4 Bears 0

The North Dundas Atom C1 Demons welcomed the Smiths Falls Bears to the Chesterville Arena on Tues., Feb. 26, for game two of the first to three points in the UCMHL playoff series. Both teams picked up a single point after tying their previous game 3-3, so the winner of this game would move onto the second round. 

The Demons opened the scoring at 5:53 of the first period as Aiden LeClair scored an unassisted goal taking a 1-0 lead. The Demons added to their lead when Sydney Robinson sniped one from Robert Scott with just 1:12 remaining in the opening frame. The Demons took a 2-0 lead into the second period. 

The two teams battled to a scoreless second period but the Demons took a three-goal lead when LeClair scored his second the game from Cody Lesage and Robinson at 3:03 of the third. 

The Demons closed out the scoring when Robinson scored her second the game unassisted with 1:51 remaining in the game. The Demons hung on to take the game 4-0, taking the series four points to one. Picking up the shutout in the Demons’ goal was Matthew Seguin.

Demons 3 Bears 3

The North Dundas Atom C1 Demons travelled to the Smiths Falls Community Centre on Mon., Feb. 25, to take on the Bears in game one of the first, to three points in the UCMHL series. The Bears opened the scoring at 6:31 of the first period and took a 1-0 lead into the second period. 

The Demons tied the game when Jack Robinson snapped one home from Cody Lesage and Anthony Sylvestre just 1:20 into the second. The Demons took their first lead of the game as Jacob Miller scored an unassisted goal at 1:44 and took a two-goal lead at 8:08 as Robinson scored his second of the game from Miller and Michael Dean. 

The Bears answered with just 43 seconds remaining in the middle frame but trailed 3-2 heading into the third period. The Bears scored the lone goal of the third just 58 seconds in tying the game at three. The game finished in a three-all draw so the team that wins the next game takes the series. Playing in goal for the Demons was Matthew Seguin.
