MOREWOOD – There was a great turnout for the 2026 Vendor Fair & Car Show organized by the Morewood Recreation Association (MRA) on Sat., Sept. 12 at the Morewood Community Centre (MCC).
Outside the MCC, organizers report there were between 40 to 50 cars throughout the event with vintage vehicles for people to view and learn about from owners. Of special interest to people of all ages was a Ghostbusters exhibit from The Clarence/Rockland Ghostbusters, which included a ghostbusters vehicle and equipment as well as an oversized inflatable Stay Puft Marshmallow Man and that a crowd favourite from the movie – Slimer.
After perusing the vehicles on display, inside the MCC people were able to grab a bite to eat at the canteen and visit the 22 vendors with a good selection of items to browse and/or purchase.
MRA Vice President JP Fauvelle wished to thank the Cornwall Cruisers Car Club, the Ottawa Car Scene and the Clarence/Rockland Ghostbusters for their assistance in promoting the event.
He then extended, “a huge thank you to all of our wonderful vendors who joined us yesterday.” He noted there was a “fantastic variety of products and services” for people to peruse and thanked them for their participation which “helped make the event a great success!” a sincere thank given to the volunteers and community members for their continued support.
Fauvelle explained the event is an opportunity for “community members to connect, participate and support one another.” He continued events planned by the organization include vendor fairs and other initiatives designed “to help foster a strong, welcoming and active community.”
Information on upcoming fall and winter activities are in the planning stages, with Fauvelle suggesting that people “keep an eye out” for news on upcoming events on their social media pages.
