Steph is set up at one of the many market she attends. These are just a few items that she has available. And I can say from experience the quality of her products is fantastic and each one is made with care. Courtesy Photo

CORNWALL – Everyone loves a comfortable plushie to cuddle with at night, whether that be a gift for a child, or a gift for the children in all of us. Thankfully Steph Stitches offers a variety of cuddly plushies you can purchase, or custom order just for your liking.
Steph has been crocheting since she was 8, she is mostly self taught with google and youtube helping her find new designs and strategies to aid in her work. When she was younger she thoroughly enjoyed crafts, although while on road trips she wasn’t able to bring glue and other craft supplies with her they found a solution. One day her guardians had brought her to the store to get knitting supplies. That’s where it started, she ended up falling in love with it and just kept going.
She later on began crocheting, although she does not want to strongly advertise too much on the knitting due to the length of time it takes to create a piece, she still does a bit of knitting, but mostly crochet.
She started Steph Stiches in June of 2024 when she was just 24 years old, Throughout her journey her partner had motivated her to keep pushing through the hard times and reassured her that she will make it through the struggles, her mother in law is also an advocate who has helped her advertise her business.
After a while people had begun asking to buy some of her products, and that’s when she began selling to the public. When she started going to markets and selling her work, a lot of people thoroughly enjoyed her products knowing her work is for all ages. From dish towels, dish cloths, and face cloths, to the plushies for young children. She makes her products kid friendly depending on age groups “I wouldn’t want a baby to choke on button eyes.” So instead of button eyes for the plush, Steph adds a special stitch to the eyes so they can’t be taken off and choked on by a young one.
Although she has the help of her mother in law and significant other there are still struggles she faces, these include; finding suitable prices for her products, not making a certain item that someone asks for at the time, and possibly not having enough time to finish a piece.
Some things that Steph would ask of customers is simply just patience, as it takes time to create a piece, she does try to get them out as fast as she can. She also has to search for the proper materials to make sure the plushies and other products do not fall apart. Some things the people who buy from Steph can expect include; long lasting products, kid friendly products, as well as love and care put into each product. You can find Steph Stiches on facebook.
