This photo of the 2024 edition of Russell Meet Me which was also held in Embrun shows how many people thought it was a great way to spend a warm summer evening. Hopefully this year will offer more of the same. Tinkess Photo
EMBRUN – The Township of Russell is inviting residents to gather in Embrun this summer for the fourth edition of its “Meet Me” community event.
The free event is scheduled for Thurs., July 9, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., taking place at and around Yahoo Park on Blais Street. No registration is required to attend.
The event is billed as an all-ages community gathering and is expected to bring together residents and visitors for an evening of food, entertainment and local engagement. Organizers say the event will feature food and beverage kiosks, displays from local not-for-profit organizations, live music, face painting, youth-focused activities, fire safety demonstrations and outdoor games.
The annual event has become a fixture of the township’s summer programming, offering an opportunity for families, friends and neighbours to connect in a casual, outdoor setting.
Further details and updates are being shared through the township’s website and social media channels.
Meanwhile, the township is also calling for food and beverage vendors, as well as not-for-profit groups, to register for space at the event. The deadline to apply is June 15, with space allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Officials say the event is intended specifically for food and drink vendors, who will be able to sell directly to attendees and retain all proceeds. Organizers note the event also provides an opportunity for vendors to promote their businesses to a broad local audience, supported by municipal advertising and outreach.
Registrations and additional information are available through the Township of Russell website (russell.ca).
