WINCHESTER – Congratulations to the North Dundas U15 girls’ Sox 2 softball team who finished in first out of eleven teams on Sun., July 6, 2025. After a great season of 11 wins and 1 loss during their regular season from May to July, the Sox 2 team came out on top as champions following a three-day tournament in Osgoode on July 4, 5 and 6.
The eleven teams were divided into Pool “A” and Pool “B” for the tournament. Both North Dundas U15 teams were in Pool “A”, along with Williamsburg, Kenmore 2, ROMSA (Rideau Osgoode Minor Softball Association) 2, and ROMSA 3.
The North Dundas Sox 2 team lost their first game on Friday evening against North Dundas Sox 1. It was a very close game that finished 9–8. The next day, the North Dundas 2 team came back to win against ROMSA 3 on Saturday at noon, followed by a win against Williamsburg Saturday evening.
The team then played in the quarterfinals on Sunday morning and won against Williamsburg for the second day in a row. This put the team in the gold medal game on Sunday afternoon where they defeated North Dundas Sox 1 team with the score of 6-5 to capture the championship.
The girls played six home games and six away games during their regular season from May to July. There were eleven teams in the U15 division – North Dundas 1, North Dundas 2, Williamsburg, Kemptville, Kenmore 1, Kenmore 2, ROMSA 1, and ROMSA 2, ROMSA 3, ROMSA 4, and ROMSA 5.
