WINCHESTER – The 10th anniversary of the consecration of St. Clare’s Anglican Church in the Parish of North Dundas was celebrated with a Eucharist service followed by a delicious dinner and time for fellowship on Sun., May 4.
St. Clare’s Anglican Church was consecrated on March 22, 2015 by the then-Bishop of the Diocese of Ottawa, the Right Reverend John Chapman. Following the closures of St. Peter’s in South Mountain, Holy Trinity Anglican in Chesterville, St. John’s in Crysler and St. Matthias in Winchester, the new church was built on property located on the outskirts of Winchester.
To celebrate a decade of service to the community, congregational members were joined by members of the clergy who had previously served at St Clare’s, including the Reverend Doctor Jon Martin, under whose leadership the church was built. The Eucharist was celebrated by the current Bishop of the Diocese of Ottawa, the Right Reverend Doctor Shane Parker, assisted by the Reverend Jonathan Askwith, incumbent of St. Clare’s Anglican Church, and Rector’s Warden Arlene Armstrong. Music is an important part of the service and for this occasion all members of St. Clare’s music ministry team were present and performed during the service.
