CORNWALL – There was lots of excitement at the Wing House, located on Vincent Massey Drive in Cornwall, as the results of the 2025 provincial election were broadcast throughout the restaurant on large televisions.
As the first results poured in there were loud cheers from those attending the election night party hosted by the SDSG Progressive Conservation Pary of Ontario (PCPO) as it became increasingly apparent that the PCPO under the leadership of Doug Ford would be returned to power.
Shortly after 9 p.m., the re-elected Member of Provincial Parliament (or Member of Legislative Assembly) for Stormont, Dundas and South Glengarry Nolan Quinn arrived to the delight of those assembled. In introducing Quinn, his campaign manager Adrian Bugelli thanked the volunteers, supporters as well as all the candidates who had run for office in SDSG.
“An exciting four years are ahead of us!” commented Quinn, after acknowledging the work of Bugelli and campaign workers, and support from his wife, children, parents, family members and friends. He commented the passage of Erin’s Law (Child Sexual Abuse Prevention and Reporting), 2024 to be a great accomplishment during his first term as SDSG MPP. On the e-law website of the provincial government, located at https://www.ontario.ca/laws/statute/s24033, Erin’s Law is described as seeking “to amend the Education Act with respect to child sexual abuse prevention and reporting.”
South Dundas Mayor Jason Broad, South Stormont Mayor Bryan McGillis and North Stormont Mayor François Landry were among the 100 plus people at the Wing House in Cornwall on election night. All three mayors commented on the collaboration and success of working with Quinn over his first term and look forward to working together in the future.
Stormont, Dundas and South Glengarry MP Eric Duncan commented how he was “very proud of Nolan tonight.” Duncan continued how he and Quinn have worked closely together to serve the riding, noting how the results served as a validation of the work done by Quinn. Bugelli mentioned how during the election campaign, Quinn and his team had spent a significant amount of time speaking with constituents and discovering their concerns.
Unofficial results for the SDSG riding in the 2025 Ontario provincial election are located on the Elections Ontario website. With 100% of polls reporting for Electoral District 102, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry the results are as follows: Nolan Quinn for the PC Party of Ontario received 23846 votes or 62.03% of votes cast winning with a margin of 16,500 votes; Ontario Liberal Party candidate Devon Monkhouse received 7346 votes or 19.11% of votes cast; Jeremy Rose of the Ontario New Democratic Party received 12.38% of the vote or 4,760 votes; Nicholas Lapierre of the Green Party of Ontario receiving 2.5% of the votes cast or 969 votes; Stephen Kohut of the New Blue Party received 812 votes or 2.11% of votes cast and Brigitte Segrue of the Ontario Party received 710 votes or 1.85% of votes cast.
Information on the Elections Ontario website indicated in the provincial riding of SDSG, 2025 provincial election, there were 87,434 registered voters, with 38,443 votes cast and the voter turnout reported to be 43.97%. Looking at the results for this riding in the 2022 provincial riding, there were 87,263 eligible voters with 36,328 votes cast which represented a voter turnout of 41.23%. Quinn was elected to represent SDSG in 2022 with 20,766 votes or 57.50% of votes cast and in 2025 his percentage of votes increased to 62.03%.
