LONG SAULT – South Stormont Fun Raisers had a busy Saturday when the community organization hosted two events on March 26 at the South Stormont Community Hall. The day-time event was a trade show that featured close to 30 vendors and a steady flow of people receiving information, viewing articles for sale, and enjoying the opportunity to visit.

In the evening, the SSFR held the Dance Until You Drop Dance Party featuring Whiskey on Tap. The party provided an opportunity to get out of the house and celebrate. Organizer Dave Smith commented there was a great turnout for the event, with “around 100 advance tickets” sold and around 24 people purchasing their ticket at the door. Smith mentioned that people enjoyed the chance to visit and dance to the crowd pleasing five-person band.

South Stormont Fun Raisers are a registered South Stormont club, “whose mission is to bring cultural and educational activities for our residents, while raising money to help fund some water view recreational infrastructure” explained Smith. He continued some upcoming events organized by the group include a euchre tournament at the Long Sault Legion at 1 p.m. on April 2 and a comedy show and dance on April 8 to be held at the South Stormont Community Hall.
