The North Dundas Rockets travelled to the Larry Robinson Arena in Metcalfe on Fri., Jan. 17, to take on the Jets in the NCJHL. The Rockets’ forward line of Justin Lefebvre (11), Joel Hunt (22) and Nicholas Carroll (15) had a good game combining for 15 points including six goals. METCALFE—The North Dundas Rockets were supposed to play a pair of games this past weekend. They travelled to Metcalfe on Friday night to take on the Jets but their game at home against the West Carleton Inferno was postponed due to the snow.

The North Dundas Rockets travelled to the Larry Robinson Arena in Metcalfe on Fri., Jan. 17 to take on the Jets in the NCJHL. The Rockets went into the game in second place in the West Division, 23 points behind the first place South Grenville Rangers and six points ahead of the Jets in third. 

The Jets opened the scoring just 32 seconds into the first period as Mark Morrison scored from Kyle Fillion taking a 1-0 lead. The Rockets knotted the game at 11:28 as Joel Hunt ripped one home from Cameron Brown and Brett Lannin but the Jets answered at 17:51 as Dylan Tokessy scored an unassisted goal. The Jets took a 2-1 lead into the first intermission. 

The Rockets tied the game again when Brown sniped one from Nicolas Carroll and Justin Lefebvre just 1:15 into the second period. The Rockets took their first lead of the game when Brown scored his second of the game from Lefebvre and Lannin on the power play at 2:28. 

The Rockets took a two-goal lead when Carroll snapped one to the back of the net from Lefebvre and Lannin at 3:51 on the power play. The Rockets made it 5-2 when affiliated player Mason Peterson slid one home from Xavier Langevin at 4:09. 

The Jets closed the gap to 5-3 at 5:29, as Cam Gallant scored an unassisted goal. The Rockets made it 6-3 as Hunt scored his second of the game unassisted at 6:02 on the power play. The Rockets kept the pressure on and made it a 7-3 game as Lefebvre swatted one to the back of the net from Carroll and Hunt at 6:28. 

The Rockets took an 8-3 lead when Carroll scored his second of the game from Lefebvre and Hunt and a 9-3 lead as Hunt completed his hat trick from Brodie Barkley and Lefebvre at 17:03. The Jets got one back with just 15 seconds remaining in the middle frame as Mikael Gibeault scored from Sam Wilson and Tokessy on the power play. The Rockets took a 9-4 lead into the second intermission. 

The Jets got to within four as Wilson scored from Fillion just 1:18 into the third period but the Rockets answered with a goal at 13:02 as newcomer Devon Thompson scored his first as a Rocket from Jarrett Williams and Brad Nash. 

The Jets closed out the scoring at 16:42 as Marc Brosseau scored from James Horvath and Chris Martin. The Rockets took the game 10-6 moving back to .500 in the season. The Rockets outshot the Jets 42-32. 

Picking up the win in the Rockets’ goal was Sebastien Moreau making 26 saves.
