CHESTERVILLE – For 30 years, the Chesterville & District Lions Club has held their Car Rally & Chicken BBQ and this year 65 cars participated in the annual fundraiser. While registrations continued at the front of the Chesterville Legion Hall, Lion Carl Robinson explained the funds raised by the Car Rally are used in the local community by the service group. Robinson expressed thanks for the silent auction items donated by businesses, local organizations and individuals in Morrisburg, Winchester, Williamsburg and Chesterville.

The Car Rally is organized as a Poker Run with participants drawing cards to make a poker hand at registration, scheduled stops in Moose Creek, Finch and back at the Chesterville Legion with the best poker hand winning a prize. For some participants the rally has become a tradition, with Mark Findley from the Chesterville area explaining he was participating in the Lions run to get out and have some fun while supporting the organization.
