METCALFE—The 162 edition of the Metcalfe Fair comes to town beginning on Wed., Sept. 26 and runs to Sun., Sept. 30. There will be lots to see at this year’s fair. Wednesday will welcome homecrafts, culinary arts, flowers, field crops and 4-H crops to compete for the red ribbon.

On Thursday, the judging begins. Tthere will be a dairy show at the arena featuring Holstein, Ayrshire and Jersey cattle. The midway opens at 4 p.m. and will run all weekend The demolition derby begins at 7 p.m. followed by entertainment by the Stone Face Sinners.

On Friday, there will be a 4-H sheep show, a beef and dairy show, heavy horses and a western horse show. The Country Lads will be entertaining from 4-7 p.m. and there will be a heavy horse pull at 7 p.m.

There will also be a garden tractor pull followed by entertainment by two different bands – The Riley New Band and Rainwater Whiskey. On Saturday, there will be an antique tractor show, 4-H Regional dairy show, heavy horse show, and there will be a puppet show featuring the Rock the Arts Puppets in a show called The Udder Show.

Big Time Pro Wrestling will be in the entertainment centre between 2-4 p.m. The Capital Cowgirls will provide an equestrian show at 2:30 p.m Marlene Fawcett will be performing on stage from 4-7 p.m. The entertainment that night will feature the Riq Turner Band and The Reklaws.

On the final day, there will a classic car show, western games, a baby show, an antique tractor pull demonstration, a 4-H horse show, a truck pull and a fashion demonstration. Kelly Trotter will take the entertainment stage at 1:30 p.m. followed by Henry Norwood at 3:30 p.m. and final a show case of champions at 4 p.m.
