Close to 300 people were able to enjoy a delicious full course breakfast cooked and served by members of the Matilda-Iroquois Lions club. Following breakfast there was the opportunity to visit with some animal friends from Vanderlaand the Barnyard Zoo, enjoy a performance by Dr Kaboom, have your face painted, enter a draw or have a photo with the Easter Bunny taken by Martha Link Photography.

The winners of the various activities were announced, with Liz Allan the winner of the “Mystery Egg Draw”, Elise Urquhart the winner of “Guess the Chick Popp” and Stacey Johnson taking home the Bunny Peep. Colouring picture winners were announced and received prizes provided by River Rat Treasures in Iroquois.

A silent auction held during the event was held in support of Aiden commenting the proceeds will be provided to him as he awaits a liver transplant at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. Candice Latulippe, president of the IDBG, mentioning the proceeds will be provided to Aiden.

“Aiden is an active 17-year- old youth volunteer and student at Seaway District High School and has dealt with Maple Syrup Urine Disease since birth. Only case CHEO has had to deal with. Treatment is no longer working and Aiden requires a liver transplant to survive.” said Latulippe.

On May 23 the Iroquois-Matilda Lions are hosting a fundraising trivia night entitled “Aiding Aiden Trivia Night” in the Matilda Hall with more information available on their Facebook page. She mentioned on July 5, the IDBG and other community groups will be holding a Chinese Dinner on July 5 for Aiden.
